On Sunday, 25 November 2018, at night at around 2:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 127.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz 816 and a Ford Focus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. The 23-year-old driver of the Ford had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
