On Wednesday, 19 December 2018, in the morning at 8:10, in Vilnius, on Metalo street near No. 2a, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Sharan, a Mercedes-Benz 1844 registered in Ukraine and a trailer/semi-trailer 3.5–10 t. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (44 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
