On Monday, 24 December 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 93.62), a Honda Accord hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Honda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
