On Tuesday, 25 December 2018, at night at around 3:00, in Kaunas, on Laumių street near No. 20, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus registered in Great Britain and a BMW X5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Ford, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
