On Thursday, 27 December 2018, in the afternoon at 11:20, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 103), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1836, a Krone - and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
