On Tuesday, 1 January 2019, at night at 4:40, in Pagėgių municipality, Benininkų village, on Darželių street near No. 28, a Nissan Almera hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.31‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
