On Tuesday, 1 January 2019, in the evening at around 20:00, in Ukmergės district municipality, Paobelio village, on Pagirių street near No. 1, a Volkswagen Vento ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.37‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
