On Wednesday, 2 January 2019, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on V. Krėvės pr., at the junction with Pramonės pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Skoda Octavia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (11 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He was drunk (2.39‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
