On Monday, 7 January 2019, in the morning at 10:50, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with Vakarinė street, a Setra S 315 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 50-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Setra (30 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
