On Wednesday, 9 January 2019, in the morning at 5:46, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 46.40), a Volkswagen Sharan ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.82‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
