Drunk Audi driver and Volkswagen crash on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus road
On Saturday, 12 January 2019, in the evening at 18:22, in Trakų district municipality, on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus national road (kilometre 6.06), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people were injured — the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 6-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.56‰ blood alcohol).
