On Saturday, 12 January 2019, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Pasvalio district municipality, Kalno village, on Kalno street, at the junction with Aukštagojaus street, a Volkswagen Sharan hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 80-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
