On Friday, 18 January 2019, in the afternoon at 11:02, in Vilnius, on Nemenčinės pl., at the junction with Karačiūnų street, a Ford Fiesta hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
