On Sunday, 20 January 2019, at night at 3:45, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 42.20), a BMW 530 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
