On Tuesday, 22 January 2019, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Trakų district municipality, Šventininkų village, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 21), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Fabia and a Toyota Prius. One person was injured — a 10-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Skoda (21 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was contaminated. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
