On Tuesday, 5 February 2019, in the morning at around 6:00, in Šiauliai, on Tilžės street, at the junction with K. Donelaičio street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 206 and a Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Two people were injured — a 24-year-old passenger of the Land Rover (hospitalized) and a 66-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Peugeot (23 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
