On Saturday, 16 February 2019, in the evening at 22:40, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Pasvalys–Vabalninkas regional road (kilometre 14.90), a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.95‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 39-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.77‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
