On Tuesday, 19 March 2019, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 126.95), an Opel Movano ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Opel (27 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
