On Saturday, 4 May 2019, in the morning at 5:20, in Šilalės district municipality, Jakaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 233.30), a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.23‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
