On Tuesday, 7 May 2019, in the afternoon at 12:20, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr. near No. 284, at the junction with Birželio 23-iosios street, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.36‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
