On Saturday, 11 May 2019, at night at around 1:00, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl. near No. 10, at the junction with Debreceno street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen Bora. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Opel (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.61‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
