On Thursday, 20 June 2019, in the evening at 18:40, in Šilalės district municipality, Paupio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 223), a Porsche Panamera Turbo S ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Porsche (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
