On Thursday, 30 May 2019, in the morning at around 8:00, in Akmenės district municipality, on Algirdo street, at the junction with Kęstučio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Almera Tino and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Nissan (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
