On Saturday, 27 July 2019, in the afternoon at 15:46, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 38), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. Five people were injured — the 34-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient), a 5-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient), a 2-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient), a 33-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient) and a 28-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.30‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 20-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.85‰). A 28-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (2.53‰). A 19-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.52‰). At the time of the accident it was raining, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
