On Friday, 2 August 2019, at night at 1:09, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 45.40), a Mitsubishi Outlander registered in Norway ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
