On Saturday, 10 August 2019, in the evening at around 19:00, in Klaipėda, on Kretingos street near No. 1, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Superb and a Mazda 5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Skoda (26 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.10‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
