On Sunday, 8 September 2019, at night at around 4:00, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Anglininkai–Papilys regional road (kilometre 5.20), a BMW 528 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
