On Tuesday, 10 September 2019, in the morning at around 10:00, in Kaunas, on K. Baršausko street near No. 66, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Toyota Avensis, a Schmitz and a Scania R420 registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Scania (42 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
