On Sunday, 29 September 2019, in the evening at 20:05, in Vilniaus district municipality, Melekonių village, on Lankų street near No. 4, an Isuzu Trooper hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Isuzu (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.26‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
