On Wednesday, 2 October 2019, in the evening at 20:20, in Šilalės district municipality, Stegvilų village, a MTZ registered in Germany hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the MTZ, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.91‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
