On Tuesday, 8 October 2019, in the evening at 20:45, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Vilkaviškis–Kalvarija regional road (kilometre 23), an Audi A4 Avant rolled over. One person was injured — a 46-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.69‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
