On Saturday, 23 November 2019, in the evening at around 18:00, in Utenos district municipality, Kaniūkų village, on Lakštingalų street near No. 20, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Nissan X-Trail and a Volvo S40. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Nissan (19 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.18‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
