On Friday, 10 January 2020, in the afternoon at 14:26, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 58), a Saab 9-3 ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 49-year-old driver of the Saab (hospitalized) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Saab (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Saab (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
