On Wednesday, 15 January 2020, in the evening at 20:20, in Ignalinos district municipality, Didžiasalio village, on Salos street, at the junction with Keramikų street, a Mazda 626 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
