On Wednesday, 15 January 2020, in the evening at 22:24, in Elektrėnų municipality, Pievaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 43), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and an Iveco MP400E34 registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volvo (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
