On Thursday, 23 January 2020, in the evening at 19:23, in Švenčionių district municipality, Naujo Strūnaičio village, on Kasčiukų street near No. 2, a BMW 320D hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.57‰ blood alcohol). A 34-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.25‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
