On Thursday, 20 February 2020, in the evening at 19:31, in Telšių district municipality, Lieplaukės village, on the Žarėnai–Lieplaukė–Alsėdžiai regional road (kilometre 16.90), an Audi 100 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
