On Wednesday, 8 April 2020, in the evening at 22:50, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl., at the junction with Panerių street, a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Ford (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.99‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
