On Saturday, 11 April 2020, in the morning at 10:12, in Panevėžio district municipality, Nevėžio village, on Girelės street near No. 4, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a Saab 9-3 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Saab, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.11‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
