On Saturday, 2 May 2020, at night at 1:07, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 39), a BMW 320D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
