On Sunday, 17 May 2020, in the evening at 17:14, in Mažeikių district municipality, Žemalės village, on Sodelės street near No. 50, a Polaris registered in Great Britain hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 29-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Polaris, who failed to keep a safe distance.
