On Wednesday, 24 June 2020, in the morning at 8:20, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 25.05), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320I and a Toyota Yaris. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.95‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
