On Tuesday, 7 July 2020, at night at around 0:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Matuizų village, on Tvenkinių street near No. 8, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
