On Saturday, 18 July 2020, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 296.50), an Opel Astra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Opel (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
