On Tuesday, 21 July 2020, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 28.80), a Scania rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Scania (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
