On Sunday, 2 August 2020, in the evening at around 21:00, in Klaipėda, on Vėtros street near No. 9, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter registered in Ukraine and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
