On Tuesday, 18 August 2020, in the morning at 8:48, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 34), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Neoplan and a Skoda Fabia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Neoplan (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
