On Monday, 24 August 2020, in the morning at 5:50, in Palanga, on Vasario 16-osios street near No. 37, a Saab 9-5 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Saab (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.40‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
