On Friday, 18 September 2020, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Piliakalnio street near No. 55, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
