On Monday, 12 October 2020, in the evening at 19:50, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 5, a BMW X5 3.0D hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (8 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
